this is a creepy song, and i love it for it. i like to think it's about organized religion sort of clouding peoples' minds, leading them in the wrong direction--and ultimately to the fall of civilized society and all mankind.

I think you're on to something there, but I don't think it has to be religion - feels like it could be anything that seems to sweep the world and trap people in ignorance. Awesome song - what a chorus!

This song is just basically about the deterioration of mankind. "You beg me to stop, but I was never that nice" - We inflict pain on everyone. "What you don't know won't kill you" - This is what we are told by society and the media. Problems are kept hush-hush that seemingly don't affect us, but we are all human and need to help each other out. There are many forgotten wars out there that aren't even talked about, and that is just wone example of something not hurting us if we don't know. It is hurting us, because it hurts mankind as a whole.
