	This song is all about feeling. If you have read any of my other comments, I always put somethign about feeling in them somewhere. Music is feeling, and the way Hetfield sings this song is solely based upon feeling. The deep and dark sensation one gets from this alters reality and sends one flying into anothers dispair. Live like we are equal, because we are.

	I've been waiting for months to tell you guys, that the line "and my fingers seek my veins" doesn't mean he was taking drugs or trying to kill himself. Its like checking to see if he is alive, if there is a pulse

	So as I write to you, yeah What is dawning to do, yeah? Maybe you'll understand And won't cry for this man 'cause low man is due Please forgive me Please forgive me to me..it sounds like he sings "what is done and to do" instead of dawning. Which makes more sense..particularly with the suicide theme. But I could be wrong, english is not my second language after all :)

	This a song asking for forgiveness that doesn't ignore that people are human and often times need help when they don't want it. It's very sad and humble. At first I thought it was like bleeding me, in that it was about one member's AA problems.

	i think what fingers seek my veins, is that this man is trying to kill himself but cutting himself open or something. So much could be read into this song, so its really hard to tell what the true meaning of it is. Anyways, its still a great song.

	Like a bunch of people said, he knows he's made some mistakes, but he accepts what he has to do to pay for them "I fall 'cause I let go" and he doesn't want people to suffer for what he's done "All I want from you is forget me " or to feel bad for him

	I believe this song is about someone who is at a low point in there life and they want to turn there life around, but they are too involved wiith there drugs to do so. This person lies to themselves as they lie into the mirror. They want thereselves to believe that everything is alright, when they are really caught in a storm in there life. I believe that the trash fire represents the drugs since it's warm and makes them feel good.
