This is a transcription of the horn parts for The Mighty Mighty BossToneS' 'Holy Smoke'
from 'Don't Know How To Party'.

Note: This is a kick-@$$ horn line, and I can't believe I captured it in bass format.

Part 1: Spoken words.

Part 2: Nate Albert's schweet guitar intro.

Part 3: Horns.

G|-------2---------
D|---2-4---6-4-6---
A|-2-------------7-
E|-----------------

G|-------2---------
D|---2-4---6-4-1-2-
A|-2---------------
E|-----------------

G|-------2-----9-9-
D|---2-4---6-4-----
A|-2---------------
E|-----------------

G|-------2---------
D|---2-4---6-4-6---
A|-2-------------7-
E|-----------------

Part 4: Dicky starts singing.

Part 5: 'Well, I made my bed, that's where I lie..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

(the two is optional. It sounds like there's eight horn notes in the song, but the sheet
music shows only seven. i'm not sure about how good this sounds, but it's close.)

"No pearly gates, when I die..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

"And I've been told I'll never learn..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

"I'm goin' down, I'm gonna..."

G|---1-2-1-----1-2-
D|---------9-7-----
A|-2---------------
E|-----------------

Part 6: Pre-Chorus, right after Dicky sings 'But I don't give a f-ck."

Play the first three parts of the intro, then, instead of part four, play this:

G|-------
D|-----4-
A|-2-7---
E|-------

You can also use the second fret on the e-string or the ninth fret on the a-string instead
of the 4. It depends on whether you want to end it high, low, or not.

Part 7: The chorus ("As far as I can tell...)

Slowly...

G|--------------------------------
D|---------9~-----2~-----------9~-
A|-2~~--7~-----------6~-----4~----
E|--------------------------------

Play Three times! That's "3", for all yooz idiotz.

Part 8: Comin' back from the chorus!

G|---------1--------2----
D|-----------9----6------
A|---11-12------------11-
E|-7---------------------

Part 9: 'Well, you made your bed, that's where you lie..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

"No pearly gates, when you die..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

"We tried to teach, you didn't learn..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-
A|-------------4-----
E|-------------------

"You're goin' down, you're gonna gonna burn."

G|---1-2-1-----1-2-
D|---------9-7-----
A|-2---------------
E|-----------------

WWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!!

I could not tab the parts where Dicky starts singing 'Holy smoke, is this a joke?' and
so on. But hey, at least I got the intro part, and it's REAlly good. Really. Don't worry,
kids, I'll get this somehow.
Okay, back to work.

Part 11: 'Well, you made your bed, that's where you lie..."

G|-4---4---9---------
D|---2-------1---9-2-

E|-------------------

"You're goin' down, you're gonna gonna burn."

G|---1-2-1-----1-2-

Part 12: "Well, at least I got a place to sleep."

And, gosh darnit, I couldn't tab the end. No, not the outro, that's above. I mean the END
end.

malachite has a point on the innocence thing, however i just feel this song is about beauty in life and moving to the future without caring how its going to happen. a road trip is just symbolic of that tossing care to the wind, like the kerouac book, you really are just excited about what's going to happen. and what you are going to see. especially the line, so much has come before those battles lost and won that just puts all the troubles behind and you road trip into the sun. awesome, awesome imagery.
