modest mouse is incredible, definitely one of my favorite bands. and although I feel edit the sad parts is their best song, I currently enjoy this song the most. It has a definite addictive nature that transends me into pure musical satisfaction.

m0rphic is correct in his information. dimenhydrinate is sold in antihistamines and in motion sickness pills (i believe in higher concentration for motion sickness). when taken in large amounts (UNSAFE) it causes hallucinogetic experiences. the whole song seems tripped out. the lines "i can't focus on anything" and "look at your face like you're killed in a dream" both seem to have been influenced by taking the drug. of course, there's probably more to it than that. the line "we kiss on the mouth but still cough down our sleeves" means (to me) that in a relationship, often times the good is shared while the bad is kept hidden, which isn't really the best way to go about it. i don't know. i'm a moron.

I think that Isaac Brock is a fucked up individual who could just as easily be talking about a car crash rather than a relationship. Oh well...I guess it holds some obscure significance to him...not quite sure what that is. My favorite song has to be "Life Like Weeds", which doesnt explain why this comment isn't on that song...oh well, it makes as much sense as his lyrics.

hmmm... even without the reference to dramamine the song (hell, the whole album) does have a pretty trippy feel. I've always felt it was about dramamine tripping more than a relationship thing - but what somebody said about it being "about the different up and down motions of a relationship" makes sense too - I'd never really thought about it that way before.
