Words and Music Isaac Brock/Modest Mouse
Standard Tuning (E, A, D, G,)
Tabbed by Ben Harbin
I know this will seem insultingly easy, but if you listen and
play along this is actually correct:
Wait till after guitar intro/bends
G|----------------------------------------
D|----------------------------------------
A|----------------------------------------
E|--0-0--0-0--5-5--5-5--0-0--0-0--5-5--5-5
Just repeat that through the whole song, including chorus.
thanks for looking and please rate this tab

| people on the list are way too glib and also look for direct profundity rather than subtle profundity. Gravity (the song) is a reflection on a natural a phenonmena that is necessary and irritating but also reflects a grim not quite depressed but not excited look at the events that unfold in life. There's no point in being depressed--gravity is just how it is--you can't really fight. The shit in your life is just kind of how it is (still a little depressing even if that depression isn't really meaningful or useful, reflected well in the song). | |

| I think this song can be summed up with one phrase: "Everything happens for a reason." Things decay and die, problems weigh you down ("gravity"), etc. but everyone has the same problems -- it's not exclusive to any one person. Hence, "gravity rides everything," -- everyone gets weighed down by problems. | |

| gravity is a metaphor for fate. and in the end everything will fall in to place. and you cant escape that and everything you do in life will all come together in the end.. and some people gotta see gotta know right now what there fate is.. etc. get it? | |

| This song, for me, is a really vague connection between my two favorite bands that are out right now: Modest Mouse and Radiohead. This song just makes me think of 'Fake Plastic Trees' by Radiohead because of that line "He used to do surgery for girls in the 80's but gravity always wins..." I dunno, though. The songs seem to have totally opposite meanings. It's on a beer commercial? =( Sad but I'll have to watch TV just to hear it. -=The Prynce | |

| We all spend our lives worrying about how we lookor trying to get laid and other such trivial matters... but in the end, gravity takes its toll and we all end up in a grave... in the grave none of it matters. "everything will fall right into place" | |
