i get that this is about leaving everything behind you: your family, your friends, your job and everything else. people may think you're distant and they think you should stay, but you really don't want to. and despite the fact that they all think they understand where you're coming from, they really don't, and you'd just rather go on the way you're going, whether or not everyone thinks it's rite or even if it is rite. and just the idea that it mite not be rite doesn't matter and you just look for those who really do relate so you can feel a little less crazy (I like songs about drifter-books about the same/They both seem to make me feel a little less insane).

Hmm. Very insightful Meesa and Mellow. I didn't think about the literal aspect. So does that mean that he is unhappy with his lifestyle...the price of fame? I felt as though he was referring to a journey that involved a continuous pursuit of happiness...which happens to be just out of his grasp. He could reach it if he wanted to, but chooses not to for specific reasons. Much like his lifestyle and the lifestyle of the band. Maybe it's not all that he that thought that it would be, but it is what it is. After attaining the ultimate dream of sharing his music, it comes with the sacrifice of missing out on others (dreams).

This song seems to describe how i've been feeling for the past couple weeks. I am starting to question my place in the world, and there have been times when I just want to leave it all. Wisconsin is killing me, and I do seriously want to just head to the coast. Ive done so many things to search for some type of meaning in my life, and I continue to not find it. I know that Im young and that eventually, I will find something, but until then, I feel like I have no plan. Like he said, "I like songs about drifters-books about the same. They both seem to make me feel a little less insane." This song is empathy for me, it allows me to realize that I'm not the only person feeling this way. And its nice to know.

this song to me means, basically the type of life he lives. any band is constantly touring "I guess it's not surprising but it's spring and I should leave"- usually when bands start touring. they have no stablilty. he is a drifter "to a whole new town with a whole new way" and never stays anywhere long enough to enjoy it "I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want." he keeps moving on because that is what is expected of him with their success, and he can not get used to settling in one place anymore "I know that starting over is not what life's about. But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth."

definately my favorite song on the new album. From what i can tell, he's talking about how he can't fin happiness, no matter where he is. So he keeps moving one, searching for what he knows he'll never find.
