I think there might be one more set of these, but I'm too lazy to check. It's really easy
to hear it so just listen.

i can't believe they're aren't anymore comments on this song. I love this song and many of the other songs that they have that are about drifters. I wish they would come to the south.

yea ive been on huge road trips before and this song pretty much fits the mood perfectly. and yea i think its about how u can get stuck in life making no progress whatsoever. like how brock had to work a low paying job before the band actually got famous. he probly felt like he was getting nowhere in life

Everyone missed my favorite part of the song where he sings 'How have you been" so hopelessly. Isaac sings it sounding hopeless and uninterested. It is sung repetively and the same way each time, empasizing the repetitive theme of the song. I think of him saying this to someone he has seen along his road of life and then come across again. All he can mutter is a pitiful question that he doesnt even care about an answer for. He has nothing to say about how he has been because his life has just been one constant never changing grind. It is an uninteresting line that is used to ask about how unintersting ones life is. It is sweet at the end where the music picks up and the drums and guitar answer each other.

the meaning of this song is so obvious its ridiculous, the song is called interstate 8, and he actually says "im on a road shaped like a figure 8, im goin nowhere but im guaranteed to be late." its about being stuck in a rut, being in a part of your life and you dont have the will or initiative to move on, but you know you need to move on, because youve completely exhausted this particular option, whatever that option may be.

When I saw MM once in San Diego they opened with this song and I guessed it was because they had just driven into town on the I-8 from Arizona. I like the "I spent the same 18 hours in the same damn place" line, because when you drive, you're moving but you're in the same place the whole time, sitting in your car.

I've seen them live a couple of times this year and they played this song both times. They play it so well! When I really think about it, this could be my fav song by the mouse.
