"I'm trying to drink away the part of the day that I cannot sleep away" brilliant line, i think its more about hating yourself than it is hating life...

well, who ever mentioned the laws of attraction, that is quite a possibility. but i think it might be about isaac's, well, almost a hatred for the outside world. in many of his other lyrics he mentions things along the same nature. mainly i've come to this conclusion because he doesn't mention anything along the lines of love in this song. Two one eyed dogs, they're looking at stereos this lyric stuck out to me. i think the one eyed dog could be a symbol for the single minded men of the world. and staring at the stereo could be about the nation's, no, world's addiction to consummerism. just a thought.

My guess on that whole primer gray line is this: When we die, our skin, no matter what color it was originally, eventually turns gray. Maybe he's talking about how we're all the same in the end or something. I dunno.

maybe the lyric about trying to get their car closer to the ground means they are getting closer to hell.

"And I know I should go but I'll probably stay And that's all you can do about some things" Self-explanatory, I realize, but that line's always stuck out to me. It's so casual, just like the "choice" made to take the easy route, such as resorting to alcoholism. Nothing gets better, but the narrator isn't quite ready to fight to really improve things yet. Or something.

Here's what I think: Weekends should be fun because it's a break from the work/studying you've done the past 5 days, but we know it's not always fun. And during weekdays too, it's not all work, there's time to relax & have fun too. As you can see those are evidences that "polar opposites don't push away". Also the part of day that's not as good as the rest, "hi-fi gods" and their LOWriders (gods reside up in heaven but these hi-fi gods love their car LOW to the ground), still opposites that don't push away. The next line - I think it says that problems are negative things but people don't like problems, so it makes us positive (since problems are negative), but we still have to live with them. And sometimes we feel the need to escape from them, but we can't because opposites are supposed be together. Now the last lines are a bit tricky. "These vibrations oil its teeth" - now, vibrations are made when something moves in one direction then to the opposite direction and back again, these vibrations kind of makes it easier to chew/use the teeth. Like life, the 'opposites' of life make life easier to bear and more enjoyable. For when we die, as mcscumbag had said, the dent'll get removed and all there is would be primer gray, meaning after death we only get the "primer gray" and nothing else to oppose it.

This song is grand. I think everyone has tried to drink away the part of the day that you cannot sleep away. One of the better self loathing songs out there. God bless the mouse!
