| 'autographs and apologies' is the mcs song which really gets me. i don't know why, but every time i listen to it it sends a chill down my spine. i'm not too sure about the specific meaning of the song, but it seems to be sombre reflection as well as a feeling of helplessness about his destiny. just my opinion though | |

| this song is too good. i love it when he says, "busy hands keep swimming they don't like swallowing to the abstract motor, "gotta make that motor hum gotta make it run." forward seems like forever when "ever" is hand over hand over hand the busy hands keeps swimming gotta make that motor "hum"get it over and done" | |

| i think that he's looking at a part of his life and is evaluating it. at first he hurries into the relationship without thinking, then finds out that he kind of wants to be in the relationship so he keeps working at it (the busy hands keep swimming). at the same time, his head isn't totally into it. so part of him wants to keep the "motor" going and get on with his life, but he still "can't let go, can't pretend" to not still want to be interested in the relationship. and then the halloween part. the relationship is what he originally wanted, but now that he wants to move on he's not sure anymore. the song basically goes back and forth between wanted to be in the relationship and wanting out. aaaaaand last but not least the "channels", aka other paths of life. the ending is he tries to get away, but he just cant leave her. does that make sense at all? it does to me lol. | |

| I skipped over this song at first, but it's really grown on me. As for meaning, to me it's about trying and trying, but eventually giving up because it seems so fruitless. My favorite lines: How does it all add up? how does the story end? I can't let go, I can't pretend | |

| i think the i'm so halloween part is probably meaning he pretends in relationships (my opinion of what the whole song is about) he says i'm so friendly so he probably acts really into the relationship at first but as soon as moving forward is put into the picture he wants to back out b/c its like forever to him and he can't pretend that he wants forever | |
