Artist: Mr Bungle
Album: Disco Volante
Song: Backstrokin'
--------------------
Ok all you puss-sucking muthafuckers out there...
This is for all you other bungleheads who want to know how to play the best
music this side of Neptune. This song is always a pleasant way to empty my
bowels, I hope they clean yours out too.
Here is BACKSTROKIN'
(Synth sounds at start)
G-----------------|------------|--------------|------------|
D-----------------|--------1---|----------1---|--------2---|
A-------------4---|----2-------|----2---2-----|4---2-4---4-|
E-2---2-5---5-----|4-----------|4-------------|------------|
(Play 2 times)
G-----------|
D-----6-5---|
A-----------|
E---2-----2-|
(Repeat both)
(On repeat, play the little bit 3 times, then play 1st riff once)
G-----------------|------------|--------------|----|
D-----------------|--------1---|----------1---|----|
A-------------4---|----2-------|----2---2-----|4---|
E-2---2-5---5-----|4-----------|4-------------|----|
(This bit sounds more like a synth bass or something, but it's still bass...)
G---------------|------------|--------------|------------|
D---------------|------------|--------------|------------|
A---5---5-------|5---5-------|5---5---5-----|5---5-------|
E---------5---5-|------5---5-|------5---5---|------5---5-|
G-------------------|------------------|------------------|----------------|
D-------------------|------------------|------------------|----------------|
A-7---7---7---7-----|6---6---6---6-----|5---5---5---5-----|6---6---6---6---|
E-----------7---7---|----------6---6---|----------5---5---|----------6---6-|
G-----------------|----------------|----------------|----------------|--
D-----------------|----------------|----------------|----------------|--
A-----------------|2---2---2---2---|----------------|----------------|--
E-2---2---2---2---|----------------|0---0---0---0---|0---0---0---0---|1-
(only play this the first time around)
G-------------|----------|----------------|----------------|--
D-------------|------4---|----------------|----------------|--
A-----------3-|2---2-----|----------------|----------------|--
E-2---2-2-----|----------|0---0---0---0---|0---0---0---0---|1-
(only play this the second time around)
G-------------|--
D-------------|--
A---X-4-5-4---|--
E-------------|1-
(Play this bit 4 times)
(then repeat back to start of synth bass)
(ends with more crappy synth sounds)
Obviously this was a simple one but hopefully I'll be able to work out some
more difficult ones later.
Transcribed by yet another blunder from Down Under emerging from the wormwood
of society.

| This song reminds me of the opening scene of Lynch's "Blue Velvet", basically its all about how human society seems all neat, tidy, happy, and organized on the surface, but once you get underneath it, there's some really ugly stuff going on. Listen to the last half of the song, in the foreground is a beautiful piano melody, but if you listen underneath that you hear some of the most god awful sounds, and then the final lyrics come in. | |
