in the video don't they use mirrors a lot? it could be about seeing someone else in the mirror, which ties in with the false confidence and insecurities. also i'm pretty sure it's 'come waste your millions here, secretly she sneers...'. perhaps about also, the sun is always there and you can't do anything, you can only get burnt. like maybe death, you can't stop it, you just have to accept it... i dunno, nobody agrees with me on this kind of thing, i just have nothing better to do

I think it's about mans attraction to confidence. Even the most beautiful women have insecurities, but are only unearthed when you see beneath the facade of confidence. False confidence is unattractive, giving a guilty conscience. (She burns like the sun, and I can't look away) Her confidence makes her popular to be near to. (To break these endless lies, secretly she cries) She has insecurities and uses false confidence to protect them. Muse perhaps should have been born the 18th century and wrote classical music with Beethoven and Mozart.

Watch this one live on the Hullabaloo DVD, I'm not so sure the piano should have been transposed onto guitar, but the bass in it sounds amazing, just by adding a few effects the song become much, much stronger. Matt adds a second mini guitar solo at the end too which sounds really crazy, the song in general just kicks so much more ass live. Not like it isn't already awesome though, don't get me wrong :P

He's attracted to a girl who's taunting him for not being successful. But he knows she feels terrible about doing so, she's keeping up a facade to hide her own insecurities. He's strangely drawn to her. It reminds me of Dark Shines - wanting a girl who can only bring him down.

I dont know about the capitalist thing... my interpretation is that this song is about television (especially MTV and such...) about how people stuck in the sleep work eat sleep circle use tv to escape from their gray realities "and ill hide from the world behind a broken frame" they see all the "superstars" looking "perfect" living a dream come true... after a time people start feeling a type of guilt that thats not them, they are just stuck with a 9-5 job doing the same routine every day while the plastic people live in their world of glamour with no problems at all (wich is bullshit, by the way...) so their horion gets burned till only one perception of happiness is left: be anorexicly thin (men and women alike) drive a mercedes/ferrari/jaguar and just smile to the pack of cameras following you arond "she`ll burn our horizons"... and how people should break out of this devils circle "come let the truth be shared no one ever dared to break these endless lies, secretly she cries" the no one ever dared line is i think refering to that no one really dared to break out/ do something about it cos they feel overpowered (the destructive attitude of "whats little me gonna do about it?") and that those who see it rather cry secretly than make a stand... but the majority are way to hypnotized to even look away not daring to make their own opinions "she burns like the sun and i cant look away" and "ill burn forever. i cant face the shame. geez that was long... my two cents
