| " saw a liquid controlled that gives life to a soul" I think this is about alcohol "I hit my head on it and woke up to know that i was all alone wearing just socks and a phone" the next day, after too much alcohol.. get the whole where the f** am i and what did i do, vibe from it. So wake up like that, then have some superficial person whining to you and asking you how you are and just going on and on.. haha.. the rest of it is like that to me, you just crack the sh*ts and tell them "i don't need another map of your head". I always took the woooohs in the breaks in verses to be a continuation of blocking out the other person. I love this song, it always seemed kind of bratty to me, if you know what I mean. sort of a 'lalala i'm not listening' song. | |

| That's funny... I've always had a feeling that this song hasn't got anything to do with relationships... When I listen to "Map of your Head" I always think that Matt's saying that he doesn't want to know what people around him are thinking because the minds of those who surround us are, well, corrupted (I can't find a better word, sorry... My knowldge of English is far from perfect). It's bad enough knowing that, and he doesn't need a "map of someone's head" because that will only make him feel worse... You'll see what others are thinking... See how terrible they are at heart... It's a nasty thought. | |

| i think cornfalke is right i always imagine him waking up in a damp, soggy basement or cellar with a cracking headache (hangover) and not having a clue where he is after probably a very drunken night. not remembering a thing about the night before. irratable and confused. i think the " i dont need another map of your head" bit is probly about getting pissed off by other peoples moanings while surpressing your own bad feelings and just wanting them to bugger off. like he is saying "i know you got problems but i dont want to hear you moaning on about them" | |

| droool...muse defines music i think that the song is about a guy hu has always been messed around in life and has now been dumped harshly by a girlfriend and has tried over and over to get her back but has been refused every time and this is his final straw. but neva mind boodiful song. | |
