The contempt of soldiers towards civilians? The way they go and die on our governments whims while we are 'free' to do as we please?.

Its about fighting a war, without any national reasons...

ANyone else notice that the background guitar riff is exactly the same as the one in "Everybody Hurts Sometimes" by REM?

Anyone else think that the opening sounded a lot like 'Can't Help Falling in Love' by Elvis Presley? Maybe it's just me...

When I listen to this song, I definitely am reminded of the group Queen...listen to those amazing harmonies!

I don't just think it sounds like Elvis' Can't Help Falling in Love, I'm pretty sure that intro IS Can't Help Falling in Love

No one is right on here. A running theme of BHaR is an alien invasion and this song is the fight that the main character is losing and how his government is sending him away to fight a losing battle.

This is OK considering what a great album it comes from. Like the ideas about its meaning. Isnt it supposed to be "Soldier's Poem" without the A

Elvis was my first thought when it came on as well. The way they layer the vocals is total Queen..

the lyrics here are wrong in the album it says "how could you send us so far away from home when you know damn well that this is wrong" but it's a great song. and easy to play on the guitar.

This song's so honest and true. It's really sad, mainly about soldiers who go to war and want to go back home
