It seems that they're wondering if everything that happens to them is fate. Or if everything just happens without reason. Are our lives planned out by some higher power or do we have control? "Now I can't understand what keeps me going. There is no master plan, nothing to go on, to grow on. Somehow know where do I begin?"

I think its more about unplanned inspiration or actions without reason, as if it was instinctual, and now they wonder if this is how our fate was supposed to be, just working on instinct.

I think this song is about a court case. "Nothing to go on, to grow on, not enough evidence of my soul", "interrogate the truth until you hear what you like". It even sounds a bit anti-authority.
