| (i dont think MxPx is really trying to force their opinions onto people by this song, or any other ones for that matter.) i think its just saying that it is hard for people to keep stady in thier relationship with God sometimes, especially if they are just starting their life with Jesus. another thing it could mean, is that you need to make the 'first step' if you want to get to know God at all... i dunno really... but im trying to figure it out... | |

| This song is well written; Mike's trying to explain how humbleness is a huge factor in the ability to be receptive to others. In this case, the elaborates on his relationship with God. He humbles himself before God and allows God to take control of his life.. this isn't easy to do w/ a hardened heart. | |

| very good song good line: "The first step that I needed to take was giving God control" it;s soo true but i have a ?, with the line "But the first step is so very hard if you take a first step at all" are they wanting ppl to take the first step? it does but doesnt sound like it, i guess depending on how u look/read it. | |
