| "Must be a different view To be a me with a you" This reminds me a lot of Martin Buber's conception of the "I-You" relationship -- the purest, most authentic form of mutually vulnerable human communication. Great song. | |

| i think your all pretty close...but I believe it has more to do with this rockstar (when not really rockstar but guy whose in a band...) and he just tours all the time, meets new ppl all the time (maybe even groupies)...and ends up making out with those kinda ppl (hence "making out with ppl i hardly knew or like). It's just about how he's been through all of the making out/sex relationship thing with diffrent ppl (and it's normal i guess, since he's a hot male musician touring and all...), yet one night or day he starts wondering what it would be like on the inside of love. "i wanna know what it's like on the inside of love", he just wants love so bad, maybe he's been checking out couples from the crowd or when he went out or whatever...."But then he finally says....of course I'll be alright/I just had a bad night" which leaves you thinking that he is probably going back to his ways (making out with ppl or have sex with random ppl) and that it was all just a phase... Anywaz that's what i think, putting myself in this guys shoes, in his prespective (even thougth i'm ovbiously not 100% right - maybe) i think this is what this song is REALLY about. | |

| I think about myself a lot when I hear this song... I'm loved, I have a good deal of love from my friends and family... but I've never been in a one-on-one relationship - not even a petty middle school one. and I think that same sort of thing is what the persona is saying in this song too - always on the outside, never on the inside. or...it could be seen as frustration ("of course I'll be alright/I just had a bad night") with relationships (or the lack thereof), which I feel a lot too... I love this song. | |
