| this song is about not trusting anything becauseof the fear of disappointment and broken dreams. leaning on a crutch that you cannot see may indeed be nonexistent. and he is afraid of the fall. | |

| I think the song is about being HUMANISTIC. Since he does not believe in God and an afterlife, he wants people to live for THIS life and stop warring with each other over religion and such. Life is not guaranteed to continue. When you die, you no longer exist because of a lack of an afterlife. | |

| This song, to me, seem, I dunno, hopeful. The lyrics themselves seem angry, nihilistic, but the way it's presented, the levels of voice used, makes it seem a lot more optimistic. Nothing's forever, so count your days. Nothing is final, no one is real... Pray for tomorrow, and you're empty still. I think he's talking about living in the moment. Praying for tomorrow is hopeless -- tomorrow doesn't matter. You can hope all you want for the future, but the fact is you're HERE, right NOW. And it's 'Into a strange new world' when you realize that. He says 'Can't we leave the hate behind?' When you think about it, living in the future or past is what breeds hate. If you're in the now, not letting your past or possible future dilute your mind, where can you possibly find hate from? I'm an existential philosopher, though, so that obviously affects what I see in this song. | |

| "apparently Warrel Dane is agnostic." Agnostic is not a third option. Either you don't believe in a god or you do. Agnostic means you aren't sure why you believe in your claims. | |

| To me, this song means: After all his hoping that something good will happen, and even after every single one of his hopes have been crushed, he "still believes in nothing." | |

| "Since he does not believe in God and an afterlife..." Is this documented? I find it hard to accept this just from reading the lyrics. Most metal bands today insist on using large amounts of ambiguity in theologically charged lyrics. | |
