	Gethsemane was the garden in which Jesus suffered. The references to Easter quite anchor the fact that this song is about Jesus Christ.

	Enchantment has but one truth: I weep to have what I fear to lose... How do they come up with such brilliant lyrics!!!!..it is so profound...it caught my attention so much i stayed up a whole night thinking of it....im new to Nightwish, and they RULE...

	black angel: Gethsemane is the garden Christ visited shortly before his death. It is where he prayed for hours and where he spoke such words as "Father, if it be your will, let this cup pass from me" and "Not my will but thine be done". Tuomas obviously references it, but the story seems to focus more on his own lost love than the biblical story.

	This is one of my favorite Nightwish songs. It combines a biblical story of suffering with a story of love. Tuomas has said in an interview that the lyrics are from him to a certain woman and that she knows what it is. In the Thank You's on the album he mentions "The Haunting Beauty of Gethsemane Garden" and later in Dead Boy's Poem he says "Died for the beauty/The one in the garden". This song is his way of telling the woman how he feels about her. Honestly, the line "Without you, the poetry within me is dead" almost makes me cry when I'm in the right mood. The song is brilliantly put together and deserves much more recognition. Hell, the band does too for that matter!

	Jesus in Gethsemane is an supremely powerful image - that of a man who knows he is going to die praying, crying to be saved. In the story he is alone as the others sleep, so it is about being alone and torturing yourself. This is unrequited love her... but adds that his ambition will forever be his by virtue of her being the cause of so much pain.

	I TOTALLY agree biso, those are the most powerful lines in any Nightwish song!!!! Isn't love just like that, when you don't have a partner, you would do anything to have someone who understands you, who will be there for you. This message runs throughout all the Nightwish albums.

	I absolutely LOVE this song... it embodies so well the emotions that love conveys, including those that make us suffer or doubt ourselves.... that which makes us go on, eventhough that love may never be reciprocated.
