I've always thought uses "god money" referring to the Roman Catholic Church and how it's run more like a business that a house of worship. . . Trent was raised Methodist, and it's obvious he has a lot of feelings expressed during the early Nine Inch Nails-era about the church

heard this song shortly after its release and I always thought it was about tele-evangelism and his disdain for the hypocritical nature of that business(because that is what it is). Also thought the song addressed the hidden motives of tele-eveangelists i.e. second verse.... god money's not looking for the cure ect. Just something to think about.
