| Im not to sure about this but i think this song may be about Trents grandmother. I realize that Im Looking Forward to Joining You, Finally is about that but Trent is a total perfectionist and i think that he may have for some reason or another grown discontent with that song. I mean everything about this song just works perfectlly when put in that mindframe. | |

| my boyfriend put part of this song in his profile. the part that goes 'we will never die. beside you in time.' initially, i thought it meant that we will never die, BESIDES you in time. and i was rather insulted. haha, but upon really listening to the lyrics, i really applied it to our current situation. he has been overcoming addiction during which he wasn't really connecting with me and really there for me anymore. but i was still there. parallel places. so he is trying not to stay...regarding his addiction. and as he undergoes recovery, it has been so hard and really taking every bit of him to do, he fades in a way. he still is at this distance. but he knows that together, we will never die. we have this bond. and he will be beside me in time. happy again. it is a song of hope. i just saw nine inch nails on 3/10 at the mullins center. my second time but this time i had general admission, and they are are an amazing fuckin band and put on a great live performance. they played this beautifullyyy. | |

| Az Iz, i totally agree with that. I too can't see any reasonable explain why with teeth would be either boring or just plain crappy album. To me, with teeth is a great album, with all variecity of the songs *bad english :P | |

| When i listened to With Teeth, I was disappointed up until Beside You In Time came on. Trent restored my faith in NIN with this song. Right Where It Belongs follows it up so perfectly, and almost makes you forget about the disappointments in this album. | |

| i think this song is about someone trent lost, and how he misses that person. the "i will be beside you before long'' could mean that he's going to die, or be killed, or kill himself...just a thought. | |

| This is my favorite song from this album... at first the album dissapointed me but when i hear this little piece i ended up shivering... what a great song... like someone said  "this is the one song of the album wich was made under the influences of drugs" lol The lyrics feel so like the fragile era, and i feel them so personal... And the music.... that chord that never ends... gets me to heaven! | |

| This is probably the closest thing to an Instrumental on the album. Simple lyrics, which are almost unimportant, but just adds a bit of poetry to the song. On the first listen, i was like omg... is the chord ever gonna change?... i knew it had to cuz i saw the promo video... but the anticipation... he obviously knows what he's doing, cuz im sure that was the point. When it finally changed up it was the best relief ever. Amazing song. Very different, and i bet a non nin fan would not udnerstand why it's good. But it is. Also a great way to lead into Right Where it Belongs... which is probably the best song on the album, tied maybe with Every Day is exactly the same, and All the Love in the World | |

| This song is going to sound absolutely awesome live. I have been anticipating it since the promo and was hoping the whole record sounded more like the sneak peek, but I am not disappointed. I agree with Phoenix that a Non-NIN fan probably would not appreciate this song for all that it is worth. I could listen to this brilliance on and on and on and on and on and on.... | |

| This is the second best song on the album, the best going to Right Where It Belongs! Such a great song. I'm sorry I doubted the album. | |

| I could say that this song is about Malm in a way that Trent will miss him - thats the first verse. Second verse doesn't really fit my guess that well. Second verse feels like he's free, but then this comment comes up: "I will be beside you before long" So, I don't know - maybe hoping Malm will realize what he did- hence, putting them on the same ground? Then the outro AGAIN goes against my theory. But hey, I'm sure someone here will find the way... | |
