>> I'm always falling down this same hill bamboo puncturing this skin and nothing comes bleeding out of me just like a waterfall I'm drowning in two feet below the surface I can still make out your wavy face and if I could just reach you maybe I could leave this place that almost brings tears to my eyes everytime i hear that part of the song. it is written beautifully... i love it.

Helixi- Trent's not married. He's never been married. He was supposed to be featured on VH1's "Most Eligible Bachelors" show earlier this year, but something was fucked with his publicist.

At first, I thought was referring to some kind of drug, "kinda i want to" portraying that same addiction. However, lines like "there's a devil sleeping in my bed" makes it clear that this song is about addiction, but the wrong kind of it, perhaps having sex with someone you shouldn't. It doesn't mean it's with a men, it can be with a prostitute, or an ex-girlfriend, who knows.

Although this is not one of my favorite NIN songs, i've always had a personal connection with it. Sadly enough, I can relate.

I had just finished fucking my best friend's recently ex-girlfriend and all I could think of afterwards was this song. I'm not saying that this is anything like what the song is truly about, although it fits that situation perfectly. That's the great thing about NIN music, it can have so many different meanings to the listener. That is the mark of a great lyricist.

I believe that at this point in the album, the main character is losing to the machine in his mind. He attempts to talk with the female charcter in the story about his coming defeat, and his depression, but when she tries to console him, he lashes out at her, believing her to be another "pig" of societym and therefore a conformist who doesn't understand. By the end of the song, he finally is defeated, as the machine assumes control, thus the change in tone, and the strange machine like sound of Trent's voice.

I'm thinking that this is some sort of depression, because you know everyone eventually says something similar to "You don't know how I feel, no one else has to go through the shit I go through" but that's just funny because EVERYONE says it.

I want to know everything I want to be everywhere I want to fuck everyone in the world I want to do something that matters this segment right here seems to be implying the character feels extremely insignificant, and wants to leave his mark on the world.. even if its in a negative manner.

"Sanctified" is the song that Trent said was about cocaine. "Kinda I Want To" is about someone strugging with homosexual desire.

This song is about a short lived addiction to crack cocaine suffered by Trent Reznor. He is singing about his crackpipe on the other side of the room. (I got this from an interview I don't make this shit up)

Really? Hmm, I heard this song was about trent being bi-curious. Yes, folks, for those who don't know trent swings on both sides of the fence if ya know what I mean. Watch, some people still won't believe it. "But he's married!"

This reminds me of a letter to a good friend that he is trying to confide in. He starts out by trying to relate with "You know how this world can beat you down." He may have a crush or something of that sort on his friend when he says "two feet below the surface I can still make out your wavy face and if I could just reach you maybe I could leave this place." Then he gets the advice back from his friend and thinks they don't understand what he is talking about and didn't get the point. He tries to talk about his problem again calmly but breaks and goes into his rant of "you would know wouldn't you?" He knows it is a cry for help in the end and relalizes it isn't working so gives up and puts back on his mask when he says "I want to know everything I want to be everywhere I want to fuck everyone in the world I want to do something that matters"

Is he seriously bi? Was he ever? If he was, is that stage in his life over? ***If he is bi, that would explain the "Sin" video a bit.

What I want to know is why the band does not play the song live... or won't according to Jerome on the band's website. It implies more mystery. Whata think?
