Artist:Nirvana
Title: Lithium
Author:Tom "Fuzz" O. (Fuzz4494@AOL.com)
Notes:This song is fairly simple to play... many people say it is in drop
tuning(DGCF), but I say thats crap, this is one of my band's signature
covers and my personal favorite, and we play it standard tuning and it
sounds perfect. Here it is as simple as I can put it.P.S. NO BASS IN THE
INTRO OR FIRST VERSE!!BASS COMES IN AT THE FIRST CHORUS!!
Symbols:/=slide up ^=bend note
        =slide down h=hammer-on

Chorus(Bass starts here,"Yeah,Yeah..." )
G|---------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------7-7-7-------------------------------|
A|----------4--4/-----0-3--3-3-3-5-5-0-2--2-2-2-5-5-0|
E|-0--0-4--4-----------------------------------------|

Verse ("I'm so happy...")
G|---------------------------------------|
D|-------------------5--5/7-7-----------|
A|-7--7-6--6-4--4-------------2-2/5-5-5-5|
E|---------------5--5--------------------|

Bridge("I like it, I'm not gonna crack...")
G|---------------------------------------------------|play twice
D|-------------------------5h7-7-7--5-5--------------|
A|-------3--3-3----3-3--5h7----------7-7-5-3-0-3-0-3-|
E|-5--5-5-------5-5----------------------------------|
(third time, play with ending and go back into verse)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------5h7-7-7--5-5----------------------------------------|
A|------3--3-3---3-3--5h7----------7-7-5-3-0-3-0-3/5-5-5-5-5-5-52-2-2-2-2---|
E|5--5-5------5-5---------------------------------------------------------0-3|

Last Verse Variations(On the first and last riffs of the last verse, Krist
throws in a few extra notes to liven it up. Nothing big, but its there.
Listen to the CD to see what I mean.)

First Riff Variation-No HUGE change, but it's there if you listen
G|------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------5--5/7-7--------------|
A|-7--7-6--6-4--4-------------0-2-2/5-5-5-5-|
E|---------------5-3-3----------------------|

Last Riff Variation-Once again, it's there just listen
G|---------------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------5-5-7-5--5-5-7-----------------|
A|-7--7-6--6-4--4--------------------0-2-2-2-5-5-5-5-|
E|---------------5-3-3-------------------------------|

Go back to the chorus, and play through to the Bridge. In the live version
on From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkaw, Krist changes the little bass solo
in the bridge a bit on the last repeat.I can't tell EXACTLY what he's
playing, but it sounds good to riff around on the D and G strings until the
ending.THATS ALL FOLKS!!!Questions,comments, my e-mail is above, don't be
afraid to write.
