Song: Automatic Flowers
Artist: Our Lady Peace
Album: Clumsy
Tabbed By: L.A.
I do believe the bassist (Duncan Coutts, on this CD at least) uses a 5
string. This is the tab for a 4 string, so if you tune the E string down to
D you'll be set.
16 = slide down (or up as the case may be) till you reach the fret to be
played on the next higher/lower string

| I just think that it's about this girl who is really depressed. She's been depressed for a really long time, and she had painful memories from gr. 4. When she opened her book full of automatic flowers, the memories came flooding back and made her feel worse. She dwells on bad things. Etc. etc. | |

| I think its about a girl, who for some reason has suffered an immense loss, and she feels that it was because she wasn't good enough (couldn't afford the view' might not be entirely literal). She's basically holing herself in, and not leaving her apartment, but because of this reluctance of outside she's blocking the one thing that could make her happy and she doesn't realise this ('she can't see straight'). The pop up book is about looking to something that made her feel good once for an automatic cure, and its not happening, and she's going insane trying to figure out why it can't make her laugh any more. Though I could be completely off the mark as I may have put a tad of a personal spin on that. | |

| I think this song is about a very lonely girl. Read the lyrics and you should be able to find many obvious supports for my thinking. Flowers represent love and relationships, but the 'automatic' basically nullifies that -- the flowers are given without feeling? :P | |

| It is about a girl, who obviously is very upset.Haven't got a clue why though. And can i just say that the automatic flowers refer to the flowers in the pop up book. When she opens the book up, the flowers 'automatically' pop up. | |
