Song: Superman's Dead
Artist: Our Lady Peace
Album: Clumsy
Tabbed by: L.A.

The existing tabs for this were sort of bare bones, so this is complete.
However, Duncan Coutts (the bassist in OLP) apparently uses a 5 string as far
as I can tell, so a few notes aren't tabbed as this is the 4string version.
I denoted these notes as "(r)", for rest, because in the sections of the
song where it comes, you barely hear the notes anyway so you can rest on
them.

Verse 1 (doesn't come in until "fake", where the pickup is)
G|----|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
D|----|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
A|----|--------4-4-4-4-------2-2-2-2h4-|-1-1-1/4-4-4-4/66666666-2-2-2-2-|

"No-a-hoohoo"
G|----------------------------------------|
D|-------1-3=---------1-------1-----------|
A|-1h3-4------4-4-3-4-----3h4---2-2-1-2-2-|
E|----------------------4-----------------|

"Alone, alone, alone..." (played on the offbeats, i.e. "a-LONE")
G|---------------------|
D|---------------------|

E|-6--6-------4-4-4----|

Chorus
G|------------------------|-------------------------|--------------------------|
D|------------------------|---------------------8-6-|----------------------4-3-|

E|-6-6-----4-4/16---------|-6-6-----4-4/16--6-6-----|-6-6-----4-4/16-----------|

|--------------------|
|--------------------|
|-----4-4--22222-----|
|-6-6-----------4444-|

After second chorus, play the "No-a-hoohoo" part 3 times, then:
G|------------------------------|-3-1---1-------|
D|-------1-3-3---------1------3-|-----3---3-1---|
A|-1h3-4-------4-4-3-4----3h4---|-------------4-|

E|-2-2-2-2/11--1-1-1-1/9-0000/7-|-(rrrr)/11-11-11-11-11-|-(r)-9-11-9-11-|

"Subway" (fill)
G|-----------|
D|-----4p3h4-|
A|-(rr)------|
E|-----------|

Outro "Doesn't any, any, any..." (play "Subway" fill between each bar)

I was really into this song when I started seriously doubting my religon that I was deeply immersed in. I related Superman being dead to everything I once believed in as a total fabrication. And I saw the false happiness as the blind, image-conscious behavior I was living as a member of my church. The ordinary name and ordinary waist deal I related to problems with eating disorders and low self-esteem. I guess I was really off on the true meaning of the song, but that's the great thing about music: anyone can bring their own interpretation into it. Who knows, maybe I'm just stupid.

My favorite OLP song. I love the vocals. They kick ass and the message in this song is a different and good one
