Pedro The Lion
Promise
Tabbed by Colin

This is the second Pedro the Lion song i've ever submitted. This one is
very obvious at some points. I actually had a request for another Pedro by
Mike Corbean, so here it is. If questions, e-mail at

Great song...i think he is basically talking about blind faith in his religion...

Spock - Just because you're an atheist doesn't mean you should dismiss his lyrics. I'm not religious at all, and the lyrics are still inspiring, religiously-themed or not. Have an open mind, bud. The song's about doubting faith, definitely. Quality song...

Dave used to play at my church sometimes. on halloween he played this song and covered, "all along the watchtower" Simply amazing. I was probably the only person into Pedro there, but whatever. Lame that they split up.

Actually compared to his other religiously-themed songs, I don't have an issue saying this is the most "typical" and among the weakest. Too generic, if you ask me.

A friend wanted me to listen to Pedro the Lion... It was kinda wierd considering im athiest and all of the lyrics are very christiany.. the songs are ok, the lyrics have good meanings but i don't like the jesus and god references, but that is just the way i beleave =\. Anyways, this is a good song for christians, has no true meaning for me, but... oh well.. i

I think he's talking about not being sure whether he is in fact saved, like God promised he would be. I think when he says "if i look up and the sky's not there" he's talking about judgement day, [revelation 20:11- Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.] and how wonders if he should be scared because he doesnt have enough faith. he knows that God has promised to save him but he struggles with doubt and worries that this imperfect faith will not be enough when it comes down to it. The last couple of lines seem hopeful, although I don't really know what they mean. Maybe that so far God has been faithful?
