Biography
Originating from Chicago, Illinois, USA, the seeds of art-metal instrumentalists Pelican were planted in noisecore outfit Tusk. Formed in the middle of 1998, Tusk featured Laurent Lebec (guitar), Trevor DeBrauw (guitar) and Larry Herweg (drums). Issuing two releases (a self-titled 2001 split EP with fellow Chicago noise specialists Hewhocorrupts, and the 2002 album, Get Ready), Tusk's studio output is best described as in the same vein of extreme bands such as Lightning Bolt and Arab On Radar.
