Band: Phish
Album: Farmhouse
Song: Gotta Jibboo (with two b's, not one)
Tabbed By: Chris (sauron420@home.com)

I noticed that the bass tab is off by a note. The correct tab is:

G-------------------------------
D-------------------------------
A---7-5-4-567--(7)5(5)4--2------
E-0-----------------------------

The opening E octave (7) makes all the difference in the world. You can hear
it on the album & recordings. Chris got the rest correct.

I think this song of jam packed full of good-to-know-life-meaning that Trey passes on to our souls everyday. It means (to me) that you gotta' do what you gotta' do - weather it be dancing, cleaning, writing a letter, going to work, taking a walk - just gotta' jibbo' and enjoy life in general. Mommas and Papas know the best of how to enjoy life, so they sing gotta' jibboo', gotta' jibboo'. It can almost become a phrase-verb. "Hey man, gotta' jibboo' and have great day." or "I'm going to gotta' jibboo'." or even "I'm gotta' jibboo'." But as busy as life becomes, don't forget its totally great to enjoy a drink at the end of the day/week, whatever your prefrence.

I love this song, I have no idea what Jibboo means, but that's the beauty of Phish. I truly think our generation is a bunch of hippie wannabes...these songs are soo chill, and so pointless, but they are beautiful all the same....Peace&Love to those who love Phish!

some songs people dismiss as meaningless when there really can be a meaning behind it. but this song truly has no meaning. its just a fun song.

i think hippies are refreshing. then i think i need refreshing. that is when i have a beard and i wake up the 17th time in a strange place and fall out of the bus and wonder what day it is only because i need to be on time to the show. other times i think hippies that shit on the lawns in morrison colorado and rip off the small buisnessesare not hippies. or maybe they are. and the people i respect and love at the shows are just people. maybe the hippies are the ones that can shit werever they want and not care because they are only interested in themselves being wasted. anyway this song makes no sense like some phishheads. but i like it too.
