actually, AeroLed286 it poses the question of free will vs. dterminism, was it purely coincidence that he missed his plane? or was it something more, like it was already "written".

I think this song has a definite reference to Nazi Germany. In the movie, during Comfortably Numb, Pink has a transformation in a hotel room from rock star to power-crazed fascist dictator. The doctor gives him a shot, presumably heroin, and on the way to the concert, he is seen ripping off a shell of skin. When he rips off the final piece, he is wearing a black military uniform and a stern look on his face. In the Flesh then brings the story to a climax, with Pink's statement of who he is (Pink's not well, he's at the hotel, they sent us as a surrogate band...are there any queers in the audience? Put 'em up against the wall!) Run Like Hell is just like In the Flesh, except on a larger scale. The movie makes a Kristalnacht reference, with people running and being knocked down and beaten.

ok...simple. watch the wall the song's about pink's crazy fascist regime going around town and just screwing with minorities...breaking down their shops, raping their girlfriends, killing them. its alot like nazis because its fascism...why the whole fascist part in the wall? well they actually talk about it in the wall documentary, saying its more of a joke than anything but it shows what power can do to a person. but i can see how they are trying to show the relationship between the crowd's loyalty for the band at a show, and the people's loyalty in fascism. but then again more of a joke...plus it was the best part of the movie.

acctually the wall was minorly auto biographical and a littel more biogaraphical with sy barrett. my op.? barrett era sucked. it sounded too much lik the beatles. it wasnt shit but it wasnt platnium. DSOTM is my favorite. the wall was next then final cut. fc was what ever couldnt be on the wall then turned into an album about the post war dream. the wall is just about a rock star who builds a wall to escape all the bad shit in his life.

Well commercial success does indicate how good an album is to an agree, if 24 million copies were sold obviously it was a good album or else 24 million ppl wouldn't have bought it, and i'm not sure about this but i heard pink floyd wasn't really given alot of airtime back then to begin with so it wouldn't have been really overhyped and overrate, if im wrong on the last part correct me

all your ideas are great, i love pink floyd for this reason too, they can have all these crazy effects on the songs, and they're always so great. Nobody can touch them, they're too hot.

Yeah The Wall was so amazing that it caused a lot of friction within the band forcing the keyuboarsdist leave during the making of it. Face facts man The Wall is one of the worst concept album ever! The film I dig but the album? UH UH. Saying something as heinous as "You should be shot" just shows the level of intelligence I have to contend with here - get a life
