| This song appears on the album, but not in the movie. "What Shall We Do Now?" sounds like this song in the beginning, but in a different key, and is in the movie, but not on the album, although the lyrics are included. | |

| I just have one question about the message in the song. how do you play it backwards? Do you need the record or what? | |

| What shall we use, to fill, the empty.. spaces, where waves of hunger roar ? Shall we set out across this sea, of faces, in search of more and more.. applause ? Shall we buy a new guitar ? Shall we drive a more powerful car ? Shall we work straight through the night ? Shall we get into fights ; leave the lights on; drop bombs ; do tours of the East; contract diseases; bury bones, breakup homes, send flowers by phone, take to drink, go to shrinks, give up meat, rarely sleep, keep people as pets, train dogs, race rats, fill the attic with cash, bury treasure, store up leisure, but never relax at all ? With our backs to the wall... Back to the wall. It's a song about greed. "...where waves of hunger roar..." doesn't mean he is literally hungry, it means he has desires, etc. Gluttony, Envy, Lust, Sloth, and to an extent, Pride and Wrath, all relate in there raw form to the feeling of Greed. So you could say this is a song of the 7 Deadly Sins, or Greed. | |

| Roger Waters really understands how to express a lot in four lines. Kurt Vonnegut could do it, too. Here is a poem I wrote taking two two liners by KV. Roses are red, and ready for plucking You're sixteen, and ready for high school Pretend to be good always And even God will be fooled I call it Roses (For Stalin?). | |

| I can't really make out the backmask, even when looking at the lyrics. | |
