Vera Lynn was a very popular British singer in the 1940's during WWII. In this song, Waters is refering to her song "We'll Meet Again", in which Vera says "But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day." In this song she was basically promising all the soldiers at war that they would...meet again...some sunny day...and, to me, Waters is just wanting to know when exactly this whole war is going to be over because it seems like there's no end. So that's who Vera Lynn was...

i think that vera is just a metaphor for everything that pink couldn't get in life, and how he said they would meet again, meaning his life would be straight, but they never met again.

This song is awesome, even though it's only a minute long. Beautiful, Roger Waters had a great singing voice. Anyone heard the song "Wonderwall" by Oasis? A part in their song goes "Does anybody else in here...Feel the way I do. About you now" and it sounds soooo much like the part in this song.

This is a beautiful song. Great in all ways and perfect for the Wall. One of my friends was named after this subliminal song. I agree with emily_pnkflyd016 on the meaning.
