| I have another idea about what this song is about. I'm sure it's not what Syd Barrett intended, but it fits in with the lyrics. This song is about God poking fun at us measly humans. Alone in the clouds all blue- where is God? the general perception is up in the sky you can't see me but I can you- can we find proof of God, no. What is God supposed to do? watch us. Unicorns, dandelions, buttercups- all creations of God (except perhaps the unicorn) Too much, I won't touch you, but then I might- sometimes there are miracles, sometimes not, sometimes God reaches out to us, sometimes not. Here we go, ever so high- God takes a civilization, raises it up, then smashes it down (though that's not included in the lyrics, but it's what always happens in real life) Just to stir up controversy, if anyone still reads these posts anymore. | |

| i love this song. it makes me happy, its sorta creepy though. i love how syd barrett has this carefree childhood feel to his songs. He seems to have thing for eiderdowns though, ive heard him mention them in other songs. | |

| Alone in the clouds all blue Lying on an eiderdown. Yippee! You can't see me But I can you. Now, think of that verse as if God was thinking it. I think the song is from God's point of view. Not sure what it's about though =S | |
