PLACEBO:LADY OF THE FLOWERS:  Use normal tunning throughout the song.
The beginning isn't note perfect but is very close to the original.

Beginning:

G----------17--18--17-------------17--18--17----------
D------15-----------------------15--------------------8---
A--16-----------------------16-----------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------------6----

G--18 let ring..---17--------------17--18--17-----------
D--15 let ring..----------------15-------------------8-----
A--13 let ring..-----------16-------------------------------
E------------------------------------------------------6-----

Verse:

G--18--17-------------17--18--17-------------
D-------------------15-------------------8------
A---------------16------------------------------
E-----------------------------------------6------
          Scuse    me,      I     must   etc......

Keep repeating the verse until the guy stops speaking and start the
part below just before Brian starts singing and also when he is
singing.

Pre-Chorus:

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------------
E--2--2---2--2---2-2-2--/--6 let ring........--6--6---6---6-6-6-

On the last time round before the guy starts speaking again and when
Brian sings " Into her hypnotic gaze", play;

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--------------------------------------------------------------------
E--2--2---2--2---2-2--/--12---6 let ring....----------------------

Next play the beginning bit until the guy stops speaking and then
play the pre-chorus and the bit above when the pre chorus ends. After
this it gets heavier/rockier (whatever....).

Chorus 1:

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--9-9--9-9--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8---9-9--9-9--9-9-9---
E--------------------------------------------------------------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------9-9--9-9--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8----
E--9--9-9--9--9-9-9-----------------------------------------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--9-9--9-9--9-9-9------------------------------------------------
E-----------------------6 let ring...--------------------------------

Next part is where the guy speaks again so just simply play the
beginnning part again.  After this play the pre-chorus until Brian
finishes singing " In her electronic haze ".  go into chours type 2
after that.

Chorus ( Type 2 ):

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--9-9--9-9--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8---9-9--9-9--9-9-9----
E--------------------------------------------------------------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------9-9--9-9--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8----
E--9--9-9--9--9-9-9-----------------------------------------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--9-9--9-9--9-9-9--------------------------------------9-9--9-9
E-----------------------9--9--9--9--9-9-9--/--16-16-------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8---9-9--9-9--9-9-9----------------
E-------------------------------------------------------9-9--9-9---

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------------------------------------------------------
A-----------------------9-9--9-9--9-9-9---8--8-8--8--8-8-8---
E--9-9-9--/--16-16------------------------------------------------

G--------------------------------------------------------------------
D-----------------------8--8---15--15---11--11------------------
A--9-9--9-9--9-9-9------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------------------------------------------------

After that rather short chorus type 2, repeat the beginning until the
song stops ( listen to how many times Stef plays it to get it right
).  During the parts where the guy speaks I said use the beginning,
using the verse which I wrote works just as well so don't get muddled
on that part. Have fun!

"Vacuum cleaner eyes" has nothing to do with housewives. He's just repeating how hypnotic her eyes are. Can anyone tell me what he means by "pear pies"?

o.o another thing, the second time he says: "'Scuse me, I apologize he likes your attitude, he tries it on for size he spends the afternoon, between your thighs how's that for gratitude, I apologize." does anyone else thinks he sounds like his about to burst into tears? Why is this?

This song is definitely one of the most imaginative Placebo songs, I think it's the best. The song feels so dreamy and full of emotional lunacy. Pure beauty this is.

I believe the correct lyrics are hair pies but anyway just a little fact that at the start of the song it says he then changes to a she then back to a he showing how the person changes for man to woman in a way. 'Scuse me, I apologize HE likes your attitude, he tries it on for size HE spends the afternoon, between your thighs how's that for gratitude, I apologize. 'Scuse me, I apologize SHE's got vacum cleaner eyes suck you in SHE's got magazines, filled with pear pies 'scuse me, I apologize see :)

actually thinking about it.....it does kinda sound like a transvestite. "confused and wracked with self-doubt" and also the way that the pronoun changes from he to she to he

These refernces sound very domestic, ''Scuse me, I apologize she's got vacum cleaner eyes suck you in she's got magazines, filled with pear pies' Perhpas this song is about a lonely housewife whose husband does not respect her, 'he spends the afternoon, between your thighs how's that for gratitude' But likes her 'attitude' because she stays in all day reading cookery magazines and vaccuming. 'Blouse' strikes me as a very 1950s word, and the entire song smacks somewhat of "white picket fence" stereotyped perfection. The 'electronic haze' and 'seemed to last for hours, seemed to last for days' could either be referring to drudgery and monotony of her life, or could be a reference to some sort of anti-depressant drug. The repetition of 'I apologize' makes it sound as though somebody is telling her she could do more with her life, and trying not to offend her. This song could be an attack on stereottypes within society and how we should not allow ourselves to fall into them or judge other people in this way.

Perhaps his house is metaphorical for his heart: "She stole the keys to my house and then she locked herself out." Maybe he fell in love with her, and she did something wrong, to make him fall out of love with her. Maybe she cheated on him, and that might be what the beginning of the song is about. "how's that for gratitude, I apologize." Maybe she is apologising.

Good explanation but then how comes at the end he talks about "she lays me down..she lays me" doesn't fit in.
