I read an interview with Brian, in which he said its about how the suicide rates go up during the holidays, because people are depressed because they are alone

^ No it's not, it's the street name for Ketamine.. a cat and horse tranquilizer like I described. Cocaine doesn't give you the high that you or this song describes,

Ketamine is both a cat and horse tranquilizer... the lines "I'm on sinking sand/gravity/no escaping gravity" reminds me of the effects of ketamine. You feel numb and your legs feel like they're floating so it's a very surreal experience. Those lines can apply to both love and the effects of the drug.

This song is about fighting a drug addiction and knowing your going to get your ass kicked, and all you want to do is escape earth's gravity because it is all too much. This addicition has hit this person's "achilles heel"
