Placebo- Taste in Men (from Black Market Music Album)

Tabbed by Zoe Jackson (exploding_fish@hotmail.com)

sounds better if played with some delay and a bit of distortion

Ab --------------------
Eb --------------------
Bb --------------------
F --10/-2-2-2-9-9----

this is whats played throughout most of the song, but when you get to the third verse,
play:

Ab -----------------
Eb -----------------
Bb -----------------
F --2-2---2-2-2---- lots of times

just a little note, sometimes the bit that i have put first, stef plays live as:

Ab -----------------
Eb -----------------
Bb --5/-------4-4--
F -----2-2-2-------

To me this song is about a really screwed up love triangle. Brian sees this couple, whom he doesn't agree with, so he steals the girl, the guy doesn't know. but eventually he finds out. the rest is history

Way to go VRAI - I am glad someone else pointed out the sample from Pink Floyd's "Let There Be More Light" - a GREAT song off of 'Saucer full of secrets"

It seems this song is about a girl that is playing both the singer(narrator) and another man. " Come back to me awhile Change your style again Come back to me awhile Change your taste in men" Suggests that the men are two very differant people, and to be with each she changes her style - who she is, what she dresses like. "Dazzled, doused in gin" Meaning that one is probably rich, and has the girl "dazzled" and is maybe abusing her taking advantage of her in some way. "I'm killing time on Valentine's" refers to their relationships being on and off, and on a special day he's waiting around for her to come back to him... for awhile

Another good song by Placebo. Not one of my faves, but I say the video to this one and it looked like Brian got the girl AND the guy, so...*applauds* Yay, Bri! Anyway, yes, screen dream, it WAS looped in a car commercial. I was babysitting and the kids were asleep, so I couldn't jump up and scream girlishly like I wanted to. It's great that, even though they don't radio play in the states (atleast they don't where I am), more Americans still listen to them.

I think Eternie is right Someone left him on Christmas day, and since then he's hoping to get that person back. He asks that person to change his/her taste in men, and hopes he/she will come back to him.

this song is catchy and i think it's good meaning...er i don't really have much of an interpretation although it sounds kind of bisexual, and the fact it changes from christmas day to valentines suggests it (whatever 'it' is) hasnt been sorted out and probably still isnt. the gin bit...well i don't know but i just listen to it anyway. hey im not an expert

hi! this is the best song ever, i think it´s very clear what it means, it´s a beautiful song, so vulnerable, yet so powerful. there is something about this guy brian, a je ne sais quoi, he´s very atractive. i´m not into this kind of guys, but for him, i sure would change my taste in men!
