| First comment...quite an honor well this song is one of the best ones in the album I really really like it placebo rocks I hope they stick around for long I think it is a guy that was a good boy in the past but then he met someone who made him become such an addict...and he tries not to forget what he once was | |

| So maybe my own personal interpretation is wrong; but I kinda thought that this song was about a guy, who was sleeping with his girlfriend and as he was about to come, said something ridiculous like "i love you" *as i let it slip* and perhaps his girlfriend was thinking, are you ok? because it isn't something he would normally say. IDFK that's what i got from it | |

| I always thought meds like 'the pill'. So I've always got it in the back of my mind that the songs about forgetting to take the pill and having drunk sex and getting preggers and then figuring out what to do and realising how their life has changed but i like the psychopath thing better | |

| This is the song that grabed my attention one morning on Fuse. I think it's about a person who has some fuck up mental problems& has trouble remembering to take their medication. Nothing too diffrent from the rest. Lol. | |

| It was in the Mirror’s entertainment section ‘The Ticket’ March 3-9 2006. On their official site Placeboworld, there is an archive of press articles and a couple of them discuss the new songs on Meds, but not that particular interview (yet?). http://www.placeboworld.co.uk/archive/old_press.html | |

| Sounds like a night out, taking someone home and getting so caught up in the thrill of the sex, and those stupid promises you make in someone else's arms, and the consequence of her forgetting to take her meds. "I was alone staring over the ledge Trying my best not to forget All manner of joy, all manner of glee And our one heroic pledge How it mattered to us, how it mattered to me And the consequences I was confused by the birds and the bees Forgetting if I meant it" In the passion of the moment, he makes one of those regretable commitments, so enjoy the birds and the bess that he doesn't really know if he was serious or not. | |

| Let me explain :) I was alone, falling free (falling off the clif or building whatever..) Trying my best not to forget What happened to us, what happened to me What happened as I let it slip (Trying not to forget why he is doing it) I was confused by the powers that be Forgetting names and faces (parania and self loathing) Passers by were looking at me As if they could erase it (people judging him for considering such a thing) Baby, did you forget to take your meds? (X2) (comments that people use to judge people in that way) I was alone staring over the ledge Trying my best not to forget All manner of joy, all manner of glee And our one heroic pledge (Trying to convince himself not to jump) How it mattered to us, how it mattered to me And the consequences I was confused by the birds and the bees Forgetting if I meant it (the confusion of life) Baby, did you forget to take your meds? (X4) (same as it meant before) I was alone, falling free Trying my best not to forget (his final decision to jump) | |
