I think this song is about wanting to be in love with a girl. "We could ve together". It feels like he's walking on the moon when he's been with her. "Feet they hardly touch the ground". He's optimistic they'll eventually get together but others aren't so sure. "Some may say I'm wishing my days away". That's my interpretation.

yeh, i think guitarboy is definitely right, i think hes using his leg as a metaphor for his heart as well.. "i hope my leg dont break". when he leaves her he's in a state of bliss, he doesnt want it to stop, he wants to keep "walking on the moon", and thus, doesnt want his leg (heart) to break.

This song is badass. It's basically that the writer wants this relationship to last forever and not ever have to get fucked over in love.

I have always envisioned a man thrilled and filled with joy walking back home after he drops his lover off from a date. The love and excitement he feels ultimately relates to the fantasy of what it must be like to be "walking on the moon". But then again...that's my opinion.

I must have been the man you envisioned. This song came unbidden to my head after just such an event a few years ago.
