I think this song is about fame and art, and I think the woman mentioned is music. That music curbs his pain, and he can't live without it, and that he'll succeed with it. The smashing and crashing cars are scandals and etc. of fame. It fits with the whole theme of "Stupid Dream." Awesome CD.
