Sorry about the whole (Track 8 thing) it says my song name ws to short so I couldn't just
put 3.

This song is really easy to play and is really fun to play too.
It's on the cd In Absentia.
It's in Drop D Tuning.

The Riff
G-------------------|----|
D-------------------|----|
A-------------------|----|
D-0-35-35-3-0-3-5-3-|-0~-|

then there are the guitars and then you just play this again until the end.

That's it, that's all the tab is. It's really easy and fun to play.

.3, or World War v3.0. Steve Wilson is the master of clever, subtle meaning, it's what intrigues me so much about PT. Is there something subliminal or subsonic in their music? I can't listen to anything else, and I never tire of them. All other music just seems irrelevant. Maybe some govt conspiracy? Snoogie

High alcohol leve? It'd be called 0.3‰ then... I don't think so. .3 could also be read as 0.3, that's for sure. World War III? I'm quite unsure about the second line. I always thought it's a reference to a racial conflict. But I found a german translation which said "Lay them waste" means to lay the weapons down, consequently to stop the war. Note that my native language isn't English, so I'd appreciate if you could help me with that. Anyway, scientists prognose that a World War III would be about resources like water, that racial stuff doesn't fit in here. I don't know. However, the song is really great. The bass passages strongly remind me of "The Second Renaissance" movies from "Animatrix", if anyone seen them, especially part 2. There, the war between robots and humans is shown (If you have seen Matrix, you will probably have heard of it there). Coming to think about it, racial conflict in this context DOES make sense, a war between the human race and the robots. And "Black the sky"... wow, this also matches the Matrix story (The humans darken the sky to defeat the robots running with solar energy, also mentioned in Matrix) Well, It's just a guess, but it COULD have something to do with Matrix... But .3? I dunno...

Fun fact: this was originally part of Strip the Soul, but it was separated because Strip the Soul was 16 minutes and I guess the record company didn't like that.

First thought when looking at the lyrics: War. It seems so obvious. Great track =)

pw: I'm 99.999% sure that the phrase "lay them waste" means to kill on a large scale. The two lines of lyrics sound like a general commanding technicians to let the nukes fly. If the weapons are plentiful enough, I suppose they could black the sky. "for your race" draws attention to how many soldiers kill many people for the good of their nation, or their race. They don't know these people, nor have these people done any direct ill towards them, yet the soldiers have to kill them. Amazing song..
