Tab by APerfectTool77

This is my third tab now, all three being PT tabs. It always sucked that I couldn't
find them elsewhere so I decided to start making my own. They might not be perfect
but its most certainly a start. Any questions, comments, or requests please send to
aperfecttool77@hotmail.com or on AIM s/n: APerfectTool77

Thanks, and enjoy!

This song seems to be about the thoughts of the serial killer in question as he's actually committing the atrocious acts. The overall 'feel' of the song lends to this notion as well.

This kind of reminded me of the BTK killer, he was a normal guy, had a nice family, treated them nice, but also had a dark murderous side. He would rape and kill women...

There is a song by the Free Jazz-artist Pharoah Sanders called "The Creator Has A Master Plan". Probably a reference.

Jimy Hendrix left the master tape of one of his albums in a taxi once, and lost it.

It seems to be about someone who raises a family only to kill them all in the end.

Drew, I think you're overcomplicating the significance of 'staring into the void' 'I stared into the void tonight // The best dream I ever had' Seems to mean that he dreamt nothing, or had nothing at all on his mind (was at peace for a change), and it was 'the best dream [he] ever had' meaning every other dream he ever had dark and tormentuous.

i just noticed that nobody analyzed the 2nd verse...i think i might have an idea of what it means. "The creator had a mastertape But he left it in a cab" I think this is referring to god, being the creator, and how he is supposed to be the one who creates and ends life (his mastertape). but god has lost the power to end life ("he left it in a cab") because the killer has taken that power into his own hands. "I stared into the void tonight" I think this line is meant to add imagery to the song. also staring into space for long periods of time is associated with schizophrenia. "The best dream I ever had" i think the dream he is referring to is killing his family. its as if he wasnt conscious while he was committing the act this could be stretching it, but its all i could come up with

I think it's about a guy who has a normal life - family, a good job etc. But he has also his dark side - he likes doing something bad to other, possibly weaker people and probably record that. "He raised a proper family So he could tie them to a bed" - to me it's like this: the guy has a house and a family, so he has beds. He ties the victim to one of the beds in his house, while there's no one except him... "Are you happy now?" Your sordid home is running red" - here probably the victim ironicly says that his blood is covering the floor of the guy's house. Victim knows probably that he's finished, but he at least he want's to annoy the killer or just die with smile on his face. Pills and chloroform All the pages torn - well, chloroform is used to make people unconsious, right? Pills probably are used in same way here - to allow the killer do whatever he wants with victim (e.g. tie to a bed - that'd be difficult when person would be consious). And the pages torn? People tear books when they're mad, angry or they have something in thier phychic. That might be a symbol of a mad person...

AHHHH!!! I have no idea what this song means at all, it's still an awesome track though. Has a very gloomy feel to it (in a good way).

This song is so dark and anticipatory (for the lack of a better word). It's like you are awaiting something with quite an impact to occur. After 3:20, the little break occurs and the spacey vocals start and just complete the sound of the song, which is done very well! The instrumentation is quite heavy yet still melodic (to my industrial-metal-art-rock-jazz-fusion-ambient-and-progressive-etc.-loving ears). ;) Also, for some odd reason, I get images of the movie Pi in my head, especially the "drove a spike into his head" part. Porcupine Tree is truly one of the most evolving bands out right now.....ahh, awaiting Deadwing!! ^_^
