Song: Over The Falls
Artist: Primus
Album: The Brown Album
Bassist: Les Claypool
Tabber: Daniel Gilbert

There was stuff missing from Neal Conway's (damnsaxon@aol.com) so here
is my version. The song is played on an acoustic stand up bass (check the
video) so to get a better sound slide to all notes on the same string
(I'll mark this with a / when needed). There are loads of variations,
some of which I tabbed but in order to sound a pro just use the E minor
pentatonic scale (a crude version of which is at the bottom of this tab) to
improvise. These timings are only rough, listen to the song to get it right.

Played in a steady 3/4 time

I think that this song is about the beginnings of Les' musical career. "Stood by and waited like the others before for his turn to go over the falls" could be referring to waiting for his turn to have a shot at fame. "Got up and tried it again for lack of per..." Les had many bands before he finally struck gold with Primus. "Admired his vessel for it's symmetry" is probably referring to his bass.

I for one think it's about someone waiting in line for the electric chair or lethal injection. In this case, "going over the falls" signifies death

Also... "Feeling 12 units shy of a bachelors degree..." Les dropped out of Berkeley to pursue Primus
