| Oh my god. The emotion in this song... My favorite line ever, in any song, is "now that I don't think of you" .... oh man. And "The troubled words of a troubled mind.." To me, it seems to be about his girlfriend being depressed. I mean "still standing in your dressing gown" - haven't you ever been so depressed that you cannot get dressed, you cannot function? So depressed and you cannot even pinpoint why? That is the girl in this song. She is depressed and even she cannot tell why, so how is he to help? But that last stanza... oh yes, I agree... The best ever... So true. I think everyone has had someone in their life that they should not think about, for one reason or another, but cannot help it. You just love them so much... | |

| "I know all the things around your head and what they do to you. ?" This makes me think of a couple where maybe the girl feels with an intensity he does not understand or take seriously.. The line I quoted in perticular makes me think he is an arrogant piece of pompousness that says charming things, but truly was not ready to deal with her and her emotions..But that could be a heartbruise or two speaking... | |

| This song was actually written about me and my girlfriend. The periods of ennui that consume the relationship. I don't know, this song gives me a feeling of comfort and empathy. | |

| i think this song is about breaking up coz the relationship obviously isnt working out. its not that theyre not in love, its that she has her own probs, and he doesnt wana deal with them anymore. he thinks hes over her but hes not coz when he sees someone that looks like her he wants her all over again. i agree with vertigo - the black star is something they cant see but is there. the falling sky tho i think may be representative of her paranoia maybe | |

| possibly it is yorke talking about how his girlfriend is either an alcoholic or drug addict in the first verse, the second has it seemingly waiting at hospital trying to stay awake with her and then the final verse has her already dead and him trying to cope with the pain that he is going through and he is starting to lose it himself and he is throughout the chorus just trying to figure out why it is happening to him and he can't find a rational reason for it so he blames it on a black star. | |

| I believe it's about the problems people have connecting. Obviously the example is his relationship with a girl, and he can't understand her or really be close to her. And he really can't find out what's wrong. Science, knowledge technology, the satellite, the apocalypse (falling sky) some people would blame... what are we coming to? but the sad realization is that of the separation between people, that it is final and that's all there is..... and Thom's saying that it's futile to blame technology but still is sad for the death of that illusion.. | |

| thom has said that this song is about sex int he morning, the best time to have it. haha. i think its about not knowing or having a reason -- not being able to define your problems. in the end he knows that the relationship is not going to lat, although he wishes it would. its hanging by a thread at this point. | |
