Great song! Quite shocked at first. A friend showed me this song, and I couldn't believe myself. Rammstein? English lyrics? But now I know. Although I wouldn't consider the song entirely 'Anti-American' (i'm from the United States myself) Heres what I think some of the lyrics mean, it's quite simple actually. "I know the very useful steps and I will protect you from missteps and who does not want to dance at the end does not know that he must dance" It obviously means that the U.S. (supposedly) knows everything to do and we can guide you through it, and if you don't want to take part, then you aren't wise. "This is not a love song this is not a love song I don't sing my mother tongue no, this is not a love song" This is what I think this means: Lots of europeans know at least a little bit of the english language. One example is that most of the advertisements in Europe are in English. Guess where these Ads originated? I think the whole 'this is not a love song' might have to do with the music industry in america as well... "When we dance I want to lead when you turn yourself around alone let us control you a bit I'll show you how to walk right" I believe this again has to mainly do with war. We always want to take charge (When we dance I want to lead) and when other countries think differently (when you turn yourself around alone) we want to persuade you to 'join our cause' so to speak (i'll show you how to walk right) But in general, this song has to do with cultural convergence from America around the rest of the world. Also, it has to do with how we are the 'boss' of the rest of the world. We say everything we do is right and that you should follow us and us only. It's quite disgusting, actually. The U.S. is worried about cultural convergence in our own country, yet we have impacted cultures around the world. And we've started so much bullshit and half the time we don't know how to get out of it.

Don't you think that kind of defeats the purpose of the song?

It's actually a little trendy to be anti-American nowadays, which I think is pretty disgusting.. It's easy to point the finger at the decadent American for all of your countries problems, self inflicted or otherwise.

sexyjedi, I'm not German (I'm Dutch). And the last war Germany fought was WWII, and by far most of the German people were born after 1945. Since then, Germany has been one of the most peaceful countries on earth. So, how about a nice cup of shut the f*** up?!

I didnt get an entirly anti- american vibe from this song at all. More like saying that 'this is the way things are, and you cant disagree with that'. But anyway it is a good song, also funny.
