| Hey RCHP24 The chili's did a cover of 'Fire' originally i think on either abbey road EP or Mothers Milk (1989). This could have been a tribute to one of the greatest guitarists ever but it was never shortly after his death because Hendrix died in 1970. Anthony and Flea would have both been 8 at the time and chili peppers only officially started in 1983 - 13 years after Hendrix's death. You were right about the fans starting a fire during woodstock but it was only in 1999 - 29 years after Hendrix was dead and they started a fire when they played under the bridge because they all got free candles. So in short its a cover originally done by Jimi Hendrix but it was a wicked sick cover (still not as good as the original i reckon) | |

| You better slide you ass over, girl 'Cos I'm coming through once and I'm coming the way you must be... I always see these words as the lyrics, but when i hear anthony say it, it sounds like he's syaing, "you better slide your ass over girl, cause i'm coming through once and i'm coming through once real hard...." | |

| also notice the subtle change in meaning, hendrix's appeared to be about not going to shag the girl, in this version AK's saying he wants to... our sex crazed maniac god strikes again! | |

| once, the chili peppers were playing at woodstock, and they played fire to honor jimi hendrix who had recently died, and they were accused of egging on people who coincedently had started a huge fire that night just thought some of you might be interested | |
