Yeah this song, as most of you said, is all about the adventures of Flea and Anthony. In his book Anthony says he actually wrote very little of the song because he was missing rehearsals and recording sessions due to his drug addiction coming back after about 4 or 5 years of being sober. So Flea came up with the intro and a lot of the rest. Great song, I love it. I agree with Sillwater, very underrated song from an underrated CD.

i love the intro to this song, it builds up the rest of the song amazingly, then flea's speach at the end is to true, 'its better to regret something you did than something you didn't do' it is also cool hearing about stories they had when they were younger.

awesome song, a good example of the earlier RHCP and how much they've changed, not changed for the bad, just matured i guess...song has to be about anthony and flea, right? seems so...just talks about a couple of people lookin' for the meaning in their life? looking to keep occupied lol, something to get them off...good call bshburn, love and music can save us...my favorite part of the song is when anthony is like "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiit", very underrated RHCP song off an underrated cd IMO

This song is about Anthony and Flea when the hitchhiked to San Francisco. Everything in the song actually happened to them. A guy picked them up, said his name was Don. Then he pulled over after a while and came back dressed as a woman and said he was Dawn. This is a signifigant song because its one of the few that Flea helped write, he also wrote most of Transcending which is also on One Hot Minute.

This song reminds me of my childhood friend and when we first starting go out in the world and looking around. Following railroad tracks for hours, trying to get to the river...A person can get easily bored in the ghetto. But I imagine RHCP has been through and done more than I can even imagine. And somehow came out clean on the other side.

anyone have any idea what the "if the French can unite, we can.." reference has to do with the song itself? It's right before the song picks up in beat originally. As for the meaning I think it's AK talking about good times and adventures the guys had, which if you read AK's book you'll see are enough to fill another double album, lol.

i've read anthonys book scartissue and alot of the things said in the song are the things he has done as a kid . . . so to me this song is about his teen years. .

this song is gorgeous, nd i luv the way it is lay out. theres an intro, then three parts of their life, then a conclusion. the stuff about jumpin off buildings into their pools is true; anthony only stopped wen he misjudged nd broke his back. ow.
