| lol the song's lyrics were almost an accident...George Clinton was helping the peppers produce their second albumn (Freaky Styley) and CLinton started chanting the "Funk 'em just to see...blah blah" and Kiedis joined in and that was that.....read Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis...good book..its all in there | |

| when in the studio doing the album of the same name the peppers were being produced by George Clinton. Flea and the drummer had come up with a funk instrumental which was going to be placed mid album to lead into another track. Clinton thought it too good for this purpose so increased the production and started chanting 'fuck em, just to see the look on their face' over the track which gave birth to the lyrics. The peppers them selves came up with the rest as 'freaky styley' was the bands word for anything they liked whilst they had been touring which also explains the albums title. Thats it, no hidden meaning | |

| I just looked it up in a book I have detailing the meanings to each RHCP song, the author says it's "fuck" not "funk" | |
