| this songs amazing. i reckon its a thoguht about life, looking at our own lives and realising that there's nothing we've done thats even remotely memorable. 'the time that we kill keeps us alive' means that you can't just focus on goals, you have to live, as in you have to have time to just hang around, do nothing, be with your friends and that. Thats what makes you who you are and is what gives your life meaning. By the way, the line is "Hiding from the laughter in the closests of our lives" check the booklet next time dude. Amazing song. | |

| On the Random Fact: It was once accidentally reported in a newspaper that Mark Twain had passed away. Being the all time king of snappy one-liners, when asked about the mistake, Mark Twain replied with "Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated." The line that means everything to me in this song is: "The time that we give keeps us alive." While I don't know or particularly believe it was the intention of the band, but this perfectly reflects my outlook on the meaning of life. Life does not necessarily have any particular meaning, but through your actions you can bring meaning to life. For me, the time that I give to help others reaffirms my purpose in life. The time that I give keeps me alive. Again, that's just me. | |

| in my opinion it sounds liek hes tellin u to live life to the fullest also its sayin how life can be hard and sometimes a bit...sary. and about how its not always the thingsa u do that define u, but what u dont do that shows who u r. for example...someone can go to church everyday, be a judge, but then go out and kill people...just cuz he went to church and stuff doesnt make him a good person. also someone could be a good citizen but not go to church or get involved in politics. hes a good person cuz he doesnt commit crimes. heres y i think this... "...so please don't ask me how i ended up at my wits end and breaking down. pages torn from books we never read, cause we're plugged into this grid. don't pull this plug right now, or then we really have to live." - hes sayin he didnt do what he dreamed of and now he is depressed about it and stuff. "when i die, will they remember not what i did, but what i haven't done." - here hes sayin about how its not what u do that defines u, but what u dont do. "it's not the end, that i fear with each breath. it's life that scares me to death..." here hes just sayin how life is a scarier thought then death. the song fits into it if u listen...the last 2 verses seem to be about him wanting to go complete his dreams but wonderin if its a good idea or not....just my opinion | |
