Rolling Stones
Wild Horses
(Mick Jagger / Keith Richards)

This song is a pretty easy song to play on bass just as long as you know where to play all
the notes. You might want to listen to "Wild Horses" and play it to start out with just
to get aquainted with everything. This is a slow song so don't try to got too fast. It might
sound better on an acoustic.

The song goes in the following order:

Verse 1
Chorus
Verse 2
Chorus
Bridge
Verse 3

Chorus

Here are the lyrics if you need them in addition to the tab. I would suggest that if you
need to know where to play the notes that you go through the song and listen while making
marks next on the lyrics:

(Intro)

Verse 1:
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands

Chorus:
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away

Verse 2:
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind

Chorus:
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away

(Bridge)

Verse 3:
I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die

Chorus:
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away

(Bridge)

Chorus:
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away

Song kicks ass. Mick Jagger did a wonderful job singing it. I recently heard it again resung by a woman, but it is done much better by Mick.

The girlfriend was Marianne Faithfull, Mick wrote the lyrics in an attempt to get her to stay with him. Unfortunately it didn't work...I think it was originally a Keith song, and he came up with the line "wild horses couldn't drag me away".

This song just leaves me speechless...my all time favorite Stones song. I have all the covers by females or Dave Matthews or Bush or whoever and none compare to the Stones...but I love it.
