never heard of Saves the Day before but I was just looking through the lyrics, I actually just got an account here simply so that I could say that the shit about emotion being obsolete really annoys me, it's a load of shite, if anything nowadays there's too much emphasis on emotion, all this postmodernist hazy/there is no truth easy-way-out popular beliefs definitely puts loads of emphasis on emotion, anyway so I don't find the lyrics meaningful at all- and also the lyric about it being okay to like being depressed, it's also lots of crap, you just get used to it, and get afraid of happiness because it doesn't last, it'll get you into a load of trouble though so anyway sorry about the probably over-serious tone of that but I had to say it

Every day seems the same to me I sit around and think about how alone I feel then I wind up rather enjoying loneliness because it's the comfort of being sad- sometimes it feels so right and sometimes I'd like to be around no one for ten straight years but I know this feeling can't bring me places and I know I'm losing lots of ground i COULDNT express how i felt ANY better then that... those are like the exact thoguhts that go on in my head and chris can just blurt it all out and make it so people can understand it. he realy is a genious. i admire him and look upto him so much , he has such a talent. see, theres the people that just listen to the song, and then theres the people who actually relize what the song means and analyze it and look at the lyricfs and understand and thats when you get the full effect of the song and jus go wow.. its just indescribable the feelings i get from the songs chris writes, i can go on talking for days about his talent and songs and the words , it is just amazing.

Chris is so brilliant in this song because he is so contradictary.... he plays with the listener's emotions and shit... hes all triumphant when he says "tonight i will redefine..." but then he says he can't reach that definition... He's doing this because thats what he had to go through in order to realize it.... false hope and crap.

i love the lyrics to this song. they mean a whole lot to me. however i'm not really cool with the song, its so up beat punk you cant make out the lyrics which is a cool tempo but not to take with some meaningful lyrics.

i think they went downhill 'onceagain' or maybe its the fact that theyve reached a new level of growth that most of us havent reached becuase most of us havent grown up with them, were all going through the 'cant slow down' stage of our lives ok i have a number of things to say before i talk about the song, while yes i do kinda agree with 'obsolete...' i disagree with how you said you dont want them to be another weezer. there will always besomething underground about weezer, alot of trendy people dont have a passion for them like most of us do, theyre just like oh theyre ok i guess i dont own any cds, etc but yea - and as much as i want to keep them to myself i think it will kind of be like the fairy tale come true for chris being someone whose dealt with rejection and inadeqeucy all his life he would finally be accepted nation and worldwide now for the song... then I wind up rather enjoying loneliness because it's the comfort of being sad- thats exactly true but i also dont see how all of you are oh i can so relate to that but in the other discussions you al are liike oh well my most recent boyfriend such and such happened.....how can you enjoy lonliness but are never alone

i read this song and it was a complete parallel to my diary.. my thoughts... me.. it was crazy the same.. chris has amazing writing ability.. he reminds me of holden caulfield in a way.. just from the emotions he sends in his lyrics... then again i think everyone cool is like holden... i think chris should write a book in the same poetic essense he writes all of his lyrics in

This is a great song...it is so very relatable.. It describes my emotions of recent times so well. I love finding a song to say everything i need...it makes me feel less lonely, someone else feels the same

yea, this song hits home. "the world keeps on changing while I just stay the same?" thats just how i feel, i feel no matter what im still sad and everyone around me is doing things and being happy and junk.and im just standing still watching it all go by.... and no matter how hard i try i cant get into the swing of things again. "who says what happy really means?" for real... i can't seem to remember what it feels like to be happy anymore.
