| I always thought it was amazing how it could be such an energetic, almost bouncy song, and yet the lyrics conjure such sad images. "even the most beautiful of all roses must someday crumble to dust and fade away. It's certain tragedy" I think that line is my outlook on life. It's so depressing, and yet when I hear it sung it's turned around. Almost uplifting. | |

| i love this song, i wish i could realize some things like chris does but...he's a genius. i agree w/ everyone who commented on the uplifting melody but depressing lyrics...it's great the way it comes out, sort of like irony. | |

| i love the title of this song! i feel this way with every relationship i enter into, they are all doomed for tragedy. "i'll probably hang upside down from wooden rafters in my home and look at old photos of you," ahh what a great line | |

| Yeah, this is one of those songs that wouldn't be the same if the lyrics were anything different. The lyrics to me mean that Chris is remembering an old relationship. Telling himself... well there's a reason for everything and it just wasn't meant to be but he can't help thinking he wish it weren't that way. I dunno... I can never really know unless I asked Chris. | |
