| I agree with the non-girl interpretation. Just to add i think the song shows a progression for chris, how at the beggining of the song he says he does everything for the fans, and is a puppet for the fans, but towards the end he says how he puts everything into his music, "And I'll run down to the river and grab five buckets of water." Next how he says " hope you like my restaurant and the lighting is right." symbolizes how he makes these songs for him and us because he needs to get things out but he also wants us to enjoy his songs, he wants us to like them. Finally the line "It plays your favorite songs and you know where the coin slot is." is a line straight to the fans that have been with Saves The Day since the start, before MTV and all their hype now, how he says "you know where the coin slot is" because you have been around, you know how it is, and how Chris is. Thats just my feelings. | |

| I really really like this song. Mostly what I like about it is the music. That's the first thing that attracted me to it. I love the guitar riffs... the lyrics are just another thing to accent the great musical artistry. | |

| both brodies and emoboys comments make perfect sense. i guess it can wutever way you want it. personally i like the metaphor to a controlling, heartbreaking girl because everything fits perfectly and thats how a lot of ppl get their hidden feelings out. by expressing it in a song or poem or wutever. great comments everyone! | |

| I believe that this song has nothing to do with a girl at all. I think this is Chris saying that he is sick of who he is. Even in the title, "Jukebox Breakdown", he makes a symbolic comparison to music. "Put a quarter in my neck" = you pay me to sing for you. "I'll sing a song for whatever mood your in" = we listen to saves the day for the lyrics that relate to our moods. "Isn't that what you expect?" we basically expect Chris to "carry our crosses" for us. "All you want from me is a broken heart and a mouthful of blood" we want him to sing songs that describe our hatred like rocks tonic and as your ghost takes flight. This is a song about Chris realizing he is a puppet to the fans and that he does everything for us. | |

| hmm...i'm torn between Brodie TS's answer and emoboy's...I have more a leanin to emoyboy's though...because he says things like "grab five buckets of water" that has really no meaning to himself but rather to the girl he is serving... I think whoever he might have wrote this about took him for granted and it wasn't until after the relationship that he realized it. | |

| hahaha natedogg you have absolutely no valid points in that. Your meanings of the lines missed. First the line "i'll run down to the river", ok running down to a river to fetch water for someone else, like he states in the next line, is something a servent does. When he says "his resturant" he is saying "his feelings". When he ask if the lighting is right, it is a sarcastic was oh saying do my feelings fit what you want. FINALLY the coin slot thing. He is pretty much saying this is all you expect of me, to spout out words and make them sound pretty. To sing about heart-break and emotional thing. Chris is just showing his anger against being labeled in this song and how the fans have come to expect certain types of songs from him. Like a jukebox. So the song is about him saying fuck you all for making him predictable. I mean this is what i think, and most people will say it sounds a whole hell of alot closer then what you think. | |

| This song rocks alot. I tend to think it's about a g/f and he likes her so much that he cant end it right now but she's treating him like crap and getting whatever she wants. I think it's kinda sarcastic saying that "you're taking advantage of me now wait til you get a broken heart." But hey that's just what i think. | |
